    "..... taking tax as a share of the economy under Labor to 25.9 percent, making a potential Shorten government the highest-taxing in Australian history......"


    Howard reached 26% in 2000-01 according to the Libs 2019-20 budget papers. Last time I looked, 26 was a larger number than 25.9, so wouldn't that make the Howard government the "highest-taxing in Australian history".

    Josh Frydenberg's own budget paper disputes his claim of 25.9 being the "highest-taxing in Australian history".

    I'm guessing Josh Frydenberg believes desperate times requires desperate lies.
