With IO prices above or there about $95 BHP are still making extremely good money on the dollar.
I think it is more about the Copper story, the new gold for BHP and we might as well not look so much at the IO pricing mechanism but start looking at the Copper pricing mechanism. Thats what im doing anyway. As soon as it falls .80% below previous day its buy in within seconds.
You can see this by the pricing at $38.05 and $38.30.....the buy is strong around the low $38`s.
All in all i would say BHP is cheap on metrics and when there is stability within markets BHP will be well above $42.
Some good money to be made.
The spending of $18 million a day with the Brazil fiasco is a bit of a strain but eventually that is paid and a done deal and money becomes more available to chase Copper reserves again.

note 18m a day is the JV. So half BHP, but they only contribute what Samarco can’t after profits from production. It’s already provisioned and within expectations of the amounts BHP provided it expected to contribute over the next few years.
