History repeating itself once again. The concentration of power and money into the large cities of countries is accelerating and the resulting conflicts of old are appearing. As Venice and other trading centres had private armies to protect their financial interests so the mega cities of today are relying on the nations' militia composed of poorer, rural members to defend their secular interests.London,New York,Moscow,Paris,Berlin,Sydney etc are the homes of the rich and powerfull.Whether this trend will continue without some disastrous result depends on recent events. Two forces of opinion are occuring in these major countries, the capital city view and the population at large;this view is diverging at an increasing rate.Perhaps there will be more comments overseas along the lines of Peter Cosgrove, that politicians do get it very wrong when they go off following some narrow secular interest.
