banks potential problems

Surely there are enough potential bad debts problems for the banks out there at the moments. Here are just some which I can think of :

    1. Drought problem for the farmers

    2. SARS flu in Asia are already having an impact on many Australian business such as seafoods export, fruits export, tourist industry, travel agents, hotel industry etc. I am sure there are many other whitegoods or professional business industry which are going to be effected by the SARS problem in Asia as well. Isn't ANZ bank profit announcement today highlighted their profit reliance in Asia ? And yet the damn thing still looking strong.

    3. Real Estate bubble burst especially in the East Coast in relation to high rise apartments investment. If you see the Four Corners program on Channel 2 the other night, then you know what I mean.

    4. Credit Card fees regulation reducing their fees.

    5. Most banks are expecting for business investment to improve to offset the domestic lending slow down but how business are going to expand if SARS continue to spread and world economy is yet to show any sign of picking up. Just check the resource stocks trading recently and you know what I am saying.

Are the above signals enough for the banks to feel their earning effect or are we just seeing Safe Haven buying from Asian investor ?

    Your thoughts ?
