I just had a very interesting phone call from my brother,
The irrigators ( Who grow our food) accross the country are absolutley screwed because of the drought.

Water authorities have ordered most flood irrigators to stop pumping water as rivers and catchments are at critical levels, if they keep taking water the natural fish stocks in the catchements will start to die and pollute the remaining water

It was stated that if the drought does not break in the next 2 months expect the most draconian restrictions ever.

It should not effect city people as we pay $700 per mega liter while our food growers pay $4.00 per mega liter.

The farmers want the water authorities to divert own city catchments to their farm land so they dont go broke...

This is another factor that will increase our balance of payments and put more pressure on interest rates via inflation..

This drought may be with us for a long time, a certain water authority has done some computer modeling on past droughts, they have come to the conclusion that every 100,000 years there is a 1000 year drought and that every 10,000 years there are many droughts that can last up to 200 years.

Every 1000 years we can see droughts that can last up to 10 to 20 years with an average of 5 years.

This is factual information and your state government would scream if this information was in the main stream media...

Remember 2 months until the shiit hits the fan....
