I visited the Rajasthan site myself. The deposit is shallow and suitable for simple open-pit mining, with visible gold at surface. Exploration so far has only covered a fraction of the area, yet estimates already suggest the potential for more than 15 million ounces — placing it among the world’s top undeveloped gold deposits. If India settles for one or two billion USD (I know it looks big), it would amount to their acquiring the asset at a fraction of its potential value and it would encourage India to seize more assets. Do you own DD.
