    Hi

    Another announcement today on ESI.

What would it mean if ESI won another contract over $20m? I feel another big one will come soon, from reading past announcements.

    Anyway here is todays announcement.

This company has to be worth 60c.

I think is a takeover target.

AVL preferred tenderer status – July 2003

ESI APPOINTED AUSTRALIA’S PREFERRED CONTRACTOR FOR WORLDS

    LEADING FLAT SHEET MEMBRANE TECHNOLOGY

Environmental Solutions International Ltd (ESI) has been awarded Preferred Contractor

status by the Aquator Group Ltd of the UK for design and construction of immersed

membrane bioreactor (MBR) wastewater treatment plants using the Kubota flat sheet

    membrane system in Australia.

Under this arrangement, ESI will collaborate with Aquator to further refine the MBR

wastewater treatment plant technology for competitive application in the Australian

market. This leading technology has been used by Aquator at Magnetic Island,

Queensland where the treated effluent is safely discharged into the sensitive marine

environment adjacent to the Great Barrier Reef.

ESI Managing Director, Mr Denis Glennon AO, said: "The current drought conditions in

Australia and the growing demands upon water supplies world-wide are forcing

organisations towards increased beneficial reuse of treated wastewater. They are also

necessitating the development of new technologies to achieve superior water quality

requirements. The Kubota immersed membrane bioreactor technology, which combines

advanced biological nutrient removal techniques with the exceptional pathogen and virus

removal capabilities of ultrafiltration membranes, leads the way in this growing, but

demanding market sector. This agreement between the Aquator Group Ltd and ESI is an

acknowledgement of ESI’s expertise in the design and optimisation of wastewater

treatment processes, and its successful track record in the commercialisation and market

    penetration of emerging technologies."

"ESI has already worked extensively with Aquator on the incorporation of simultaneous

nitrification and denitrification (a cornerstone of ESI’s highly successful sequencing batch

reactor technology) into MBR, and is currently preferred tenderer on a number of projects

which are ideally suited for use of the MBR Technologyâ. We believe that MBR

wastewater treatment plants will become mainstream technology in the near future."

Ross Severn, Aquator’s Group Marketing Director stated. "We are glad to have ESI on

board and recognise them as one of Australia’s leading lights in the delivery of state of the

art environmental technologies. We know that the MBR technology could make a

significant difference to the demands on Australia’s limited water reserves, allowing

permeate reuse for domestic municipal and industrial applications thus, freeing up potable

water for drinking, all of which are sound financial and environmental moves."
