Environmental Solutions International (ESI) has been awarded the
contract for the design, construction and commissioning of Dalyellup
Water Treatment Plant Stage 2 in Western Australia. The contract,
awarded by the Water Corporation, is valued at approximately $2.6
    million.

The new 6 ML/day plant will provide high quality potable water for
the city of Bunbury in WA's south west and will replace the existing
smaller plant. The single structure plant incorporates a number of
design innovations that reduced capital cost and will improve the
overall plant operability. Due to the current water situation in
Western Australia the construction programme for the Dalyellup plant
is very tight and it is imperative that the plant be operational by
    October 2003.

ESI Managing Director, Denis Glennon (AO), said "The award of the
Dalyellup Water Treatment Plant represents further development of
ESI's potable water business. ESI has become a prominent player in
the provision of wastewater treatment solutions to clients throughout
Australia and overseas. The company is now gaining increasing
recognition for its potable water treatment capabilities. The
Dalyellup contract follows similar success at Douglas Shire,
Goondiwindi and Beaudesert in Queensland, Longford in Tasmania, and
    Broken Hill in NSW."
