The thing was waived. I mean that's the high bar and if it was waived in the US it was waived. Hoo-ray.
The only caveat is that while trained and untrained users' performance is about the same, there is still a minor problem with a small percentage of blood collection ( according to the study 2024 )

Getting enough capillary blood and weak test strip bands seems to be the issue in the above % of cases, if I read correctly. But...it was waived! so, be grateful for that. If it's used even as such, it will save thousands of lives.
