    Depends on the ETFs you get. VAS in general are fully franked for most of the part. There is some foreign income for some reason every year that I'm not sure why of, but they are very very small. You get like free threshold for foreign income of around 1-2K I think. I usually ignore them. If you get something like VTS, for example, then it'll be fully foreign income based, with taxation of 15% once you've filled in the W18 form that Vanguard will send you. I believe they are used as tax credit back here when you do your tax return. You also need to calculate your tax liability "manually" and exchange rate, as the reporting season for US is different to the Australian financial calendar.
