Mr Heinz brings decades of experience in the technology sector. He began his career at Xerox in 1981
before joining Novell, where he rose to the position of Senior VP during his 12-year tenure. Starting
#in 2000, he served as CEO of Phobos, an internet security infrastructure company, until it was acquired
#in 2003 for US$268 million. He then became CEO of data broadcasting solutions provider Helius, until
it was acquired by Hughes Network Systems in 2006.
#Following his executive career, Mr Heinz founded two private equity venture capital firms based in
Utah: Signal Peak Ventures and Oquirrh Ventures, both specialising in making equity investments in
technology businesses ranging from the provision of early-stage capital to funding for growth into
#global markets. He remains a General Partner of both firms and has extensive ties to global industry
#partners with special emphasis in Artificial Intelligence, cyber security and networking infrastructure.
