america's muddle through economy

Heres an article by John Mauldin analysing the speech by Governor Ben Bernanke of the federal reserve recently. To sum it up he basically Bernanke says that deflation is very undesirable (but they do have a few levers if it comes to it) and they (the fed) will do everything in teir power to avoid going there. The assumptions by the author seem logical ie that the fed is hoping to ever so slowly grow the economy out of the mess its in, no other choice really. No interest rate rises over there anytime soon, so remaining bullets to be used judiciously.
By the way it looks to me like the quote taken from his speech re printing more money was taken a little out of context.
