    i might be wrong but i think we are really approaching a dead end on this ALP road.

    to my way of thinking you just cannot thumb your nose up at big business in a capitalist society. big business wins every time. Gillards arrogance with this carbon tax is imho going to back her into a corner that she wont be able to get out of.

    at present it looks like she has the numbers but with a majority of 1, she has no breathing space if someone gets cold feet (perhaps even from inside her own party). expect an advertising blitz ala what we saw with the mining tax in 2009 that brought kevin rudd undone - there is a very real chance that this carbon tax legislation is going to bring the government down.

    interesting times ahead.
