Source: Tilt Renewables.The utility will receive the future wind park’s entire output under a 15-year purchase agreement (PPA), it said on Thursday. The contract will benefit AGL Perth Energy, enabling it to diversify its renewable energy product offerings.“This is the first long-term wind PPA for AGL Perth Energy and it will allow us to expand our product offering with renewable energy-linked supply, as we continue to grow our business in Western Australia over the coming years,” said Giles Redmile, AGL Perth Energy’s general manager.The Waddi Wind Farm will be located 150 km (93 mi) north of Perth and 15 km north-west of the township of Dandaragan. Once operational, it will produce enough power to meet the needs of up to 68,000 homes and help eliminate around 286,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually. The plant will be equipped with up to 18 turbines and is expected to begin commercial operations in the second half of 2028.The wind park’s construction is estimated to require an investment of AUD 400 million (USD 263.6m/EUR 226.7m).(AUD 1.0 = USD 0.659/EUR 0.567)
