    The major Aussie Banks were dragging their heels again this morning, but not enough to stop the ASX from going green and surging higher at 0.6%, with Information Technology the leading sector up 1.7%. Qantas the leading mover of the big names, saying it is expecting to post a record pre-tax profit, flagging a full-year underlying pre-tax profit of up to $1.6 billion.

    Apple leading the Nasdaq up +0.9% to 7,131 overnight, shares rose 2.3 percent, closing at $169.10 in New York on Tuesday. Revenue rose 16 percent to $61.1 billion in the fiscal second quarter.

    The US tariff saga is starting to heat up a little. U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross softened expectations of any major breakthrough from U.S. and China talks over trade issues this week. The meetings will start Thursday and U.S. officials plan to head home by the weekend, though the trip could be cut short “if it’s not satisfactory,” said Ross.

    Not often you get a stock with Uranium in it name surging 100% these days, but today is one of the those days.
