ADB and WB support the transport infrastructure development program in Cameroon

APA-Yaounde (Cameroon) - The Cameroonian government is developing a single document detailing the road investment program over a reference period, in collaboration with the African Development Bank (ADB) and the World Bank (WB), learned APA Friday from relevant departments of the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Development.

Reflection, one version is expected next week, focuses on the identification of corridors for submission to funding for both financial institutions in order to benefit from the country's eligibility at the office of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD).

This proposed strategy will focus on field poles of economic growth, including production areas.

In this context, the government has prioritized the rehabilitation of the corridor Yaounde Bafoussam-Bamenda because of its socio-economic impact and as a prelude to the organization of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) football in 2019.

There is one week ADB announced its participation, at 70 to 80% of its total cost, the proposed rehabilitation of this road, 370 km long and connects the capital to the capital of the Anglophone region through the West.

A consultant will be recruited to update the studies of the project, valued at approximately 110 billion FCFA in 2012.
