What is a soul-religion? A soul-religion is only interested in the preservation and development of a person's soul. When Christ spoke his sermons and parables, it was to explain how to improve a person's chances of a better outcome after death. For example, when he said, "No one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6), this simple truth has been corrupted by those who lust after power. Its true meaning has been shrouded in a narrative that makes promises it won't deliver on – one's salvation is because of his crucifixion.

Jesus has been identified as one of the Elect. Many people throughout history have also shown service, revelation, and transformation. For example, some of the OT prophets, such as Abraham and Moses. Others include: the Buddha, Muhammad, and Baháʼu'lláh. These Elect initiated a new spiritual-moral trajectory.

None of the Elect sought to discard the transformation initiated by their predecessors. Instead, each recognised the validity of what had come before and built upon it. Their concern was never institutional continuity or political power, but the condition, maturation, and restoration of the human soul.

When scientific discovery is taken seriously, the truth embedded in Jesus' words becomes clearer rather than diminished. It is in the scientific field of epigenetics that gives us this clarity. A person needs to change their behaviour – in thought and deed, to truly change their soul. So when Jesus said, "Love your enemies," he was describing a deliberate counteraction to hatred. This will improve the condition, maturation, and restoration of the human soul.

Scientific discovery has also revealed the Mind of God – that's for next week.
