A bit of Voltaire for Fred (and little Master Echo

Fred couldn't quite get the point you were making about the English. This may help you.

In 1734 Voltaire ("Philosphical Letters") compared the French system of Government with the System he had seen in England. He stated that he had perceived fewer barriers between occupations in England than in his own country.

The book was banned,Voltaire was forced to flee Paris but the edition became a British best seller.

So much for the "wog" thing. Perhaps Fred you had "Froggie" in mind.

What was it you were trying to say Fred? Or was it just a bit of old fashioned racism disguised as Anglo Saxon bashing.
