gambling is easy --- the poorer you are - the more you gamble.
Alcohol is not so easy. 'generally' the higher up in society - the more grog is consumed - but, there's data all over the shop and it's different in different countries.
It's far more complicated than gambling - - take for instance - do rich people or poor people gamble more - well - there's two ways you can answer that - you can say as a figure - just dollars or pounds etc. - or you can say, as a percentage of income or similar.
Grog - you can say that as well - but, to add to that - grog comes in different percentages of alcohol - so, 100 bucks will buy you an amount of alcohol in say a Blue Johnny Walker - but, it will buy you a completely different amount of alcohol in say cheap cask wine or cheap bottled wine etc..
There's also complications on the harm done - the harm done to various levels of society - poor or wealthy from grog - seems to me to vary from country to country - so, say Scotland - where poor people drink less grog than rich people - but, they suffer more harm - which is an area that you were leading to.
One thing is absolutely certain --- what cannot be said is that people have enough money because you can see that they waste it on gambling or on grog - or ciggies or drugs either --
it just doesn't work that way.
I have given up posting stuff on the reality of it - there's a couple on here - I think they have me on ignore now - who persisted with the false belief crap even in the face of clear evidence with easy to read research - so, I give up - anyone wants an education - they do the work themselves.
Mainly because there are a few that don't actually want an education - they just want to stay in their own cemented BS fantasy and bitch about others.
Not any on here atm I might add.

Thats true about the drinking stats, they can be a bit rubbery due to timing of surveys and a reliance on admissions on consumption. One stat which is encouraging though is alcohol consumption amongst kids and the general population is on the decline, as is smoking. Now to decrease fast food consumption. I reckon gambling is a tough one, as there's such a broad range with it. If you broke it down to pokies then I think that would impact most on the poorest. A positive move I think would be to ban all this crap betting house advertising which inundates the tv screen.
