    Not sure what you meant about CO2 and the PDO from 45-80?

    As far as I can see all things being equal you expect the ocean to absorb CO2 consistent with the increases in atmospheric CO2 due to human fossil fuel burning.  
    But there is a complex interplay with stratification of ocean levels, upwelling of deep carbon rich water that then discharges CO2, warming of the ocean and the effects of the ocean oscillations on whether layers of the ocean are mixing or getting saturated, warming and outgassing etc.
