The day that was (Friday)
Woke in Tailem Bend on the Murray about 100km from Adelaide.
Booked a valet outdoor parking space online at Adelaide airport so the crew arriving Saturday morning can collect with keys.
Drove to Murray Bridge, found a high bay manual spray car wash to clean the road kill and rain grime off the van, so that we look professional arriving to start work on our complex project site in Callington on Sunday morning.
Did a quick drive by the Callington site and took some photos of progress to send to our guys.
Two laps around the Adelaide airport road network to find the obscure valet parking entry.
Sydney flight delayed an hour due to a medical emergency on the incoming flight. Whilst that flight was disembarking the entire Sydney Swans team walked by about 2m from me. Even though we were Swans members when out kids were growing up, I didn’t recognise a single face lol … but there were some bloody tall fellas in the pack.
Landed in Sydney, tapped on the airport link train and tapped off at Wynyard. Tapped on the northern beaches B1 express bus and tapped off at Warriewood (the bus drives so fast along its somewhat shared express lane 0.5m from other traffic I couldn’t relax lol)
Walked 1.5km to my parked car where I had left it when collecting the van 2 days earlier.
Picked up some takeaway dinner and drove home to an empty house as Mrs D was in Noosa with family (I had to miss that trip and paid airfares because the Adelaide job ended up clashing).
Home … but arghhhh I forgot to take my house keys … had to break in through the narrow upper level bathroom window from a step ladder … I am NOT giving up my day job just yet.
Inside by about 9pm.
This morning a clothes wash then head out late morning for a sail race this afternoon.
Tonight pack for a week of sail racing in Port Stevens … driving up with a mate tomorrow (I’ll probably fall asleep lol).
Next weekend crewing to bring the yacht back to Sydney harbour … then I will have to run that B1 bus gauntlet again to get home to Mona Vale to get picked up by Mrs Dex.
I won’t miss a pin next week, but may have to set a precautionary alarm so I don’t do a
@Papabuy lol.

never seen the place so devoid of birds, it was a bit eerie, Chernobyl came to mind. Just one of those odd mornings where the birds had slept in.
