Australia's RBA governor signals steady rates for a while yet

MELBOURNE, Aug 11 (Reuters) - Reserve Bank of Australia Governor Philip Lowe said on Friday any move in policy rates would be "quite some time away" and that the market pricing for the next move to be a rate hike was reasonable.

The RBA has left interest rates at a record low 1.50 percent after last easing in August 2016 and has signalled rates could stay at current levels for another year.

Lowe was responding to questions at a parliamentary economics committee.
