Using a stochiometric approach ADY know that the raw material input cost is about $2,600 (maximum estimate) and the current sales price is about $4,000 for 99.6% pure lithium carbonate.
ADY can get higher prices for lithium chloride derivatives. They priced a plant to be able to produce lithium carbonate, chloride and other items such as boron and mg sulphate and potash and invested this amount in the net present calc over four years.
The result was an IRR of about 27% on our investment after tax. Sounds reasonable to me.
They have also spent the last four years studying techniques and running models to determine that they can extract the lithium at about 40%-60% of the selling price depending what technique they use. One of the advantages doing it today for ADY is that technology has advanced so much in solvent extraction, membrane separation and other techniques that the extraction cost keeps falling.
