Liberal Party promises retrospective tax cuts
21/05/2019|3min
The Liberal Party insists there are no delays to income tax cuts, and they'll be passed as a matter of priority. Treasurer Josh Frydenberg says tax relief will be delivered as set out in the budget, but it needs to pass legislation, which can only be achieved when parliament resumes. Mr Frydenberg also promises that the cuts will be applied retrospectively, with the offset to flow automatically. The Prime Minister’s budget boasted tax cuts of up to $1000 for those earning up to $126,000 a year, but the 45th parliament never passed the package. With parliament unable to be recalled until the election outcome is finalised, there is no chance they’ll pass in time for the new financial year. Image: News Corp Australia

FRYDENBERG ALSO PROMISES CUTS WILL BE APPLIED RETROSPECTIVELY, WITH THE OFFSET TO FLOW AUTOMATICALLY.
