Telstra out of th Woods in China?

  1. 831 Posts.
If the announcement that telstra have acquired the interest they claim in CSL then hooray!!! for them. If the information is accurate and not part speculation or a wish list as was with PCCW, then yes it is a good buy.

Telstra have now to ensure they can exert control over the netity and those markets. If the USA with all of its free enterprise cannot control the Worldcoms and Xerox's in their highly regualted environment how is China (or elstra for that matter) going to exert financial controls over unpaid bills in Mobile China?

When they want to squeeze yuo there, the PLA officials locally will enter into the fray and deny payments until they have extracted concessions out o you. The moving masses there have a history and habbit of not paying their telephone bills especially those of foreign and mobile phone companies.

And the Chinese to a very large extent have aliases which is not uncommon. In fact what is uncommon is for them not to have an alias.

CSL is good for Telstra if it is not Bad.
