On this week’s The Big Deal, Warren Tredrea is joined by Michael Ramsey, the co-founder of Strong Pilates, a franchise company that’s set its sights on turning over $35 million a year.
Strong Pilates launched in 2019, has reached 58 studios throughout Australia and NZ, and is expanding into the US and further afield.
Michael Ramsey began the business after breaking his ankle and turning to reformer pilates. He and his business partner Mark Armstrong used profits from their former ventures – which was owning six F45 Training studios – to establish Strong Pilates.
Tredrea discusses the Strong Pilates business concept, the funding model and numbers.
“The good thing about franchising is its high cash flow business, you sell a territory, you get a territory fee and that can fund the expansion of the business, it can fund the health of the business, the marketing and the innovation,” Michael Ramsey said.
“So we’ve been able to do this steadily and do it ourselves.”
