Pilbara Minerals has been attracting a lot of attention this week as a combination of price support and a well-received quarterly put the lithium darling back on the radar, especially given that prices have begun to climb back to the lower end of COVID highs.
Race Oncology meanwhile remains highly viewed after recently announcing it believes it’s figured out the mechanism of action behind bisantrene, for all intents and purposes, a chemo drug that could attack cancers without the side effects of traditional chemo.
Finally, users have been pouring into the HotCopper forums commodities page for gold to discuss the direction of the yellow metal after prices sunk nearly -6% at one point this week after more than a year of continuous gains. An upcoming meeting between Trump and Xi Jinping could be giving central banks pause to assess the future of the US economy.
And so what about the most discussed stocks?
Larvotto Resources made the boards intraweek after fielding a takeover offer for $1.40/sh from the US-based United States Antimony Corporation. While the share price is yet to reach this level, suggesting a superior offer, forum users have largely balked at the proposal.
Arafura Rare Earths meanwhile followed in second after the Rinehart and Canberra-backed NT based rare earths greenfields project won support in the Trump-Albanese critical minerals deal; of course, now there’s years to wait until production.
Finally, Coronado Global Resources generating chatter this week as HotCopper forum users discussed media reports in The Australian alleging there had been a coal seam collapse at its operations in the US. On Friday, the company denied reports of a coal seam collapse, but confirmed that there was a roof collapse. Make of that what you will.
