    Nikk0, spot on with your assessment, even though we may disagree on what the big money's aims are, there's no doubt they brutally capped and suppressed the rally 2 days ago, starting yesterday's freefall. I have no doubt they're now loading up bigtime, and won't care if it drops lower in the process.

    If they'd be wanting to unload millions of shares, they'd have sustained the rally, propping the price up until they'd sold what they wanted. To create a plunge makes sense for buying, not selling.

    Anyway, as you said daytraders are not to blame here. They're little guys providing liquidity & volume, but they don't push the share in any direction, they just try and ride with it.

    banksandbods, stop losses are for anyone who doesn't want to lose their capital. You've just got to look @ the GFC to see how valuable they are. Sooo many companies now trading at a tiny fraction of their pre-GFC values, even though their fundamentals may be just as strong.
