Refrac technology is not new (been around for at least 50 years) but then I don't think that was the point of Buc's post (maybe he will chime in). In case I'm challenged on that here are a couple of links to follow up on:

    1. Presentation and notes from SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) meeting May 2014 going over some history and refracturing results and idea
    http://www.slideshare.net/MarcellusDN/refracs-what-can-we-decipher-mike-vincent

    2. Article by Schlumberger "Refracturing works" circa 2003
    http://www.slb.com/~/media/Files/resources/oilfield_review/ors03/aut03/p38_53.pdf

    3. Good article on the type of well & E&P company that refrac may help.

What I think Buc was highlighting was the "business model" that an oilfield services model might use to promote the use of its services - no shock there I would think. SLB offering to take some of the risk but funding costs up front. Scant details provided of course but these companies did not become giants by being charities.

Nonetheless, any opportunity to remove cost would be welcome - which is where I agree with Buc's suggestion.

Now the followup extrapolation is where it becomes complete speculation - yes??

    a. Has SLB expressed any interest in refracking any of SSN's wells and paying the cost upfront??
    b. Has SLB made any representation that a refrac could easily add 500 bopd (or even 100 bop)?
    c. Has SSN given any indication that refracs are suitable for any of its old wells?
    d. Has SSN given any indication that current production is "well choked" - only indication of production given by SSN is from the IPAA presentation and it does not mention anything of the sort and shows production declines.

@leverage you speak of insulting and denigrating posts - looked in the mirror lately. You speak of "trolls" and an "Agenda team" both here and Yahoo. Paranoid? I know I'm not part of any agenda or team. You vilified me early and often because I had the audacity to shine the spotlight on SSN's numbers like Cash Margin and the challenges that their EBITDAX covenant multiple posed. Fortunately (or not) at least another poster likes numbers here and was independently (read no agenda or team) to come to similar numerical conclusions - albeit more gentle to mgmt.

What happens if I buy some shares @leverage. Do I automatically become a non-genuine holder? Or is the suggestion there are some here that show "Held" that aren't being genuine?
