SciDev expands contract in the Infrastructure Sector

ASX Release 9th July 2020

HIGHLIGHTS

  • ▪  SciDev have expanded their Services Agreement with the CYP Design and Construction Joint Venture (CYP D&C) on the Melbourne Metro Tunnel Project’s works package to include the supply of SciDev’s bespoke MaxiDry® chemistry and Optiflox® technology.

  • ▪  To support the provision of chemistry to the infrastructure sector, SciDev is upgrading the Kings Park Production facility to deliver an additional 12,000T of production capacity pa (approximately a 3x expansion of the facility).

  • ▪  SciDev’s expansion into new verticals such as infrastructure highlight the Company’s ability to deliver bespoke professional services, engineering, and chemistry solutions across a range of industries and geographies.

SciDev Limited (ASX:SDV)  is pleased to advise that it has extended its Services Agreement (ref ASX 5 May, 2020) with CYP D&C, the joint venture responsible for the design and construction of the Metro Tunnel Project’s twin nine-kilometre rail tunnels and five new underground stations in Melbourne.

SciDev will deliver its bespoke MaxiDry® chemical solution and OptiFlox® technology solution to CYP D&C which will focus on maximising the operational dewatering of two TBMs building the eastern section of the Metro Tunnel as it moves through changing ground conditions.

The provision of SciDev’s bespoke MaxiDry® chemistry will be delivered via the Company’s dedicated experts deployed on site, who continue to be engaged on a schedule of rates and quantities. These experts will focus on the treatment of the TBM slurry, enabling effective dewatering, separation and disposal of solid waste and the recirculation of water to the process. The SciDev Optiflox® system will be used to help support the recycling of water and support the addition of our chemistries.

The Metro Tunnel Project in Melbourne is Victoria’s largest public transport project which will transform the way people move around Melbourne. It is scheduled for completion in 2025.

SciDev Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Lewis Utting said “We are extremely pleased to extend our relationship with CYP D&C. The provision of chemistry and technology to a major infrastructure project like Metro Tunnel is a positive reflection of the quality of our staff, our chemistry, technology solutions and the professional services we offer.

The infrastructure sector represents a globally significant opportunity for the Company, where our coordinated solutions can support both processing, water and waste management requirements. The company is pleased to be expanding its working relationship with CYP D&C on Melbourne’s Metro Tunnel Project.”
