Iceni Gold (ICL) shares have enjoyed an uptick in today's trading session after identifying new high priority target areas within the Deep Well prospect in Western Australia.

The company has wrapped up its first phase of aircore drilling at the Deep Well prospect, which sought to provide further context on a recent diamond drilling campaign completed at the project.

Iceni said drilling had been "extremely successful" and defined alteration over a 200-metre strike length, ultimately expanding the alteration zone over a one-kilometre strike length.

According to the ICL, the alteration zone is open to the north and south and hosts visual indications associated with white quartz veining, sulphides, silica, sericite and albite.

"Observable trends in the alteration reflect the underlying trends in the magnetics," the company said in a statement.

"They are thought to be related to magnetite destruction by the alteration."

Follow up aircore drilling on these alterations and known gold anomalies are set to continue.

  • Iceni Gold (ICL) has further success at the TOTK target area, hitting a third significant intersection
  • Diamond drilling is following up surface gold anomalism and visible high-grade gold where up to 135 grams of gold per tonne (g/t) and 1220g/t silver was intersected
  • The new intercept has a downhole width of around 96 metres with the alteration zone cut by multiple instances of quartz veining and porphyries
  • Diamond core will be sent to Kalgoorlie for processing and sampling, with results to be reported on once completed

Iceni Gold (ICL) has had further success at the TOTK target area, hitting a third significant intersection.

The TOTK target area is located with North-1 – which is one of six targets at Iceni's 14 Mile Well Project near Laverton in Western Australia.

Diamond drilling is continuing at TOTK to follow up surface gold anomalism and visible high-grade gold.

Previous sampling intersected up to 135 grams of gold per tonne (g/t), 1220g/t silver and 2.06 per cent tellurium.

Additionally, previous drilling has intersected strongly altered and sulphide-bearing granite and porphyries.

The new intercept has a downhole width of around 96 metres with the alteration zone cut by multiple instances of quartz veining and felsic to intermediate porphyries.

This is pleasing for Iceni as it confirms the continuity of the alteration zone to the north.

Diamond core will be sent to Kalgoorlie for processing and sampling with results to be reported on once completed.

Executive Chairman Brian Rodan commented on the drilling program.

"To have intersected strongly altered and sulphide bearing granite and porphyries in a third intersection with strong alteration and similar down hold widths of +90 metres thick so early in the drilling program at TOTK is very exciting," Mr Rodan said.

"It must be noted that assay results from FMDD0012 and 15 remain a number of weeks away, so the gold mineralisation potential is currently unknown.

"However the company is sufficiently encouraged from the visual results of the diamond core showing alteration and sulphides to continue drilling along strike and down dip at TOTK."

Iceni Gold (ICL) reports it's had more success from diamond drilling at TOTK, hitting a second interval of strong alteration.

The TOTK Target Area is located within North-1 — which is one of six targets identified at ICL's wider 14 Mile Well Project near Laverton, Western Australia.

The materials stock is trying to identify the underlying source of the surface gold anomalism and visible gold identified at the area.

It reports this latest interval occurs below a previous drill hole which found strongly altered and sulphide bearing granite and porphyries.

Iceni said this proves the orientation of the alteration zone is vertical, which will assist in predicting the path of the zone and drive the placement of further drill holes.

The company was now awaiting assay results from the drill core, as ICL continues to follow-up on geochemical sampling.

Previous rock chip results from the sampling at TOTK found bonanza grade results of 135 grams per tonne gold, 1220g/t silver and 0.66g/t tellurium.

Western Australia-based explorer, Iceni Gold (ICL) has completed a placement to raise $2.025 million.

The company issued nine million fully paid ordinary shares to an unrelated sophisticated investor at a price of 22.5 cents per share.

The placement shares represent around 4.5 per cent of ICL's shares on issue Iceni Gold plans to use the money for additional diamond drilling at the Deep Well and TOTK target areas, which are both part of the 14 Mile Well Project in Western Australia.

The company recently completed a 25-hole diamond drilling program at Deep Well which intersected multiple narrow zones of alteration across 200 metres.

Iceni is also undertaking an initial drilling program at TOTK which is following up on known gold anomalism and high-grade results.

In addition to conducting further drilling over these areas, Iceni will also put the placement funds towards a seismic survey along the 35-kilometre Danjo Batholith to build on exploration work completed at 14 Mile Well so far.

Iceni Gold (ICL) has begun a drilling program at the TOTK target area at the 14 Mile Well Project in Western Australia.

Drilling began on July 30 with the first hole already intersecting several quartz veins hosted within a felsic intrusive.

Previous work demonstrated the potential for high-grade gold mineralisation along a 100 metre outcropping quartz vein.

This forms part of a broad mineralised envelope that extends over a 400-metre trend.

Iceni will follow up on known gold anomalism identified in previous surface sampling which returned up to 135 grams of gold per tonne (g/t), 1220g/t silver and 2.06g/t tellurium.

Once drilling wraps up, the core will be sent to Kalgoorlie for processing and will then be sent to a laboratory for assay.

Iceni has also announced it has completed drilling at the Deep Well target area with 11 diamond holes drilled.

This drilling also followed up on known gold anomalism with previous work intersecting up to 3.32g/t gold.

Drilling intersected multiple narrow zones of intense alteration within a broader alteration envelope.

The drill core has been sent to Kalgoorlie for processing and sampling and will then be sent to the laboratory for assaying.

Iceni Gold (ICL) has begun receiving results from the first three holes drilled at the Deep Well target area.

Deep Well forms part of ICL's wider 14 Mile Well Project which is near Laverton, Western Australia.

The materials stock has completed three drill holes to date, with the drill cores all sent off to a lab for assaying.

ICL noted each hole had intersected multiple narrow zones of intense alteration across a 200 metre strike.

It said the zones were "highly visible with bright hematite alteration surrounding quartz veining, notably with tourmaline and pyrite in the alteration mineral assemblage".

Iceni had identified six high priority targets at 14 Mile Well, with a 25 hole diamond drill program currently underway.

The drilling was designed to test beneath the known gold anomalism in the area as well as to test for extensions down dip and along strike.

It'll also follow up on historic exploration work undertaken at Deep Well, where best results included 5 meters at 3.32 grams of gold per tonne (g/t).

Iceni Gold (ICL) has provided an update on exploration work at its 14 Mile Well Gold Project, including the discovery of 20 new priority targets.

The project is located in WA's Laverton region and the combined tenements all span across 600 square kilometres — with six high-priority target areas identified.

ICL has been carrying out a range of different exploration works at 14 Mile Well, ahead of a planned drilling campaign to test those six targets.

This latest structural targeting work identified the new priority targets, with a soil sampling program also being carried out.

The program, which consists of 12,500 Ultra Fine Fraction additional soil samples, will cover the entire tenement package with an extensive grid pattern.

Commenting on the work, Iceni Executive Chairman Brian Rodan said this was the first time the land had been consolidated and systematically explored.

"The progress announced today is the beginning of comprehensive testing on a large, consolidated land package for the first time in the history of these tenements, located in a hugely productive and fertile region," Brian explained.

"The fertility of the region is evidenced by around 25 million ounces of gold having been historically produced within a 50-kilometre radius of the 14 Mile Well Gold Project and provides huge potential to make a significant gold discovery," he added.

The drilling campaign at 14 Mile Well should kick off soon, with the company stating crews had headed to the site to begin preparing for the drill rig.
