    It's pretty simple. By running at or disobeying a police officer, you are putting yourself at a very avoidable risk. The deck is then clearly stacked against you and you are forcing another human to assess risk in a split second. All of the training in the world may not prepare an officer to make that split second decision which forces him into self preservation mode. And most coppers go through their careers without being put in this position, so it is not as though they are assured of always making the "safest" decision for the perp.

    I find it very strange at the least that someone can sit in judgement when they have never faced this life threatening situation themselves.

    It is very simple, if you resist arrest and attempt to attack a copper, you are playing Russian roulette with your life.

    Its a a shame we have people bashing coppers when we should be focusing on the real issue and that is why resist arrest and the criminal element attacking our police.
