Bob Hawke and Paul Keating did make some good long sighted policy but what really sticks in my craw is the fact that when Hawke was head of the ACTU he did every thing he could to bring down Liberal governments via union strikes.I can remember the oods and evens number plates for petrol the beer strikes every Christmas the electricity strikes when the canteen ran out of chocolate flavored milk, snap strikes, walking of the job leaving tons of concrete poured on the ground and the constant demarcation disputes. Then when Hawke was elected the he made a pact with the unions to accept lower wages and do away with the very disputes he pushed when he ran the ACTU.
