Kiwi, you seem like a really nice fella and I hope this works out for you. Just remember a couple of things though. As you've said yourself you are an "amateur" at this and pretty new on the scene. The people that you are debating with here have been here YEARS. They have watched what I believe (in case some moron wants to sue me) is the shadiest chain of events that may have ever happened on the ASX without someone landing in jail. It has been one complete disaster after another with nobody else (that I've seen anyway) getting the sharp end of the stick other than the shareholders who have done nothing more than believe what they've been told at every chance that has been available to fill their heads full of RUBBISH. If ASIC had been at ANY ONE of the meetings I've attended, IMHO they would have shut it down immediately and carted certain individuals out by the scruff of their necks. I hope I'm being clear here because I've had to dumb it down a bit in hopes that the 20 posters who will try to get this erased by the time they reach here (as they STILL cannot accept what has happened to them) don't succeed. I'm giving you the G rated version of what has happened and if I were you I'd run for the hills and pray you never stumble across anything like this again. For all we know certain holders may actually find the courage to get off the couch and find some ambulance chasing pit bull solicitor who can match up the old DFS to what has been recorded in AGM's & EGM's. I say give the guy 50% and sit back and watch what you've missed out on the last 8 years or so. I wonder how many ex employee's and contractors would be willing to testify?
Basically the people who are giving you opinions, other than the ones you believe to be true, are the ones that have been correct 100% of the way here. Let me be clear, not 90% or 95% but 100%!!! I mean with every barrage that the cheer squad could muster up, these guys/gals have YET to be proven incorrect on anything from time frames to grades of material to recovery rates, even quantities available to be sold. Had you been making investment decisions on what you had read in announcements in the last 8 years over what has been written in plain English on this board then, well actually I'll just leave it to you to go back and figure out the rest.
So now you've come wandering up the road and bought bucket loads of shares despite reading the advice offered freely here, and you believe things will all change now. Heck, that is your right, but if this thing gets back to any reasonable price level then it will be the first time that I can remember that loyal holders weren't just left standing around disappointed and often very confused as to why nobody seemed to care enough to step in and stop the nonsense. I'm glad I sold every share I had a few years ago but I still really feel for some of the holders still caught up in this train wreck! It's tough to watch good people go through it!
Good luck to you mate and as far as your price question to buddy, I would say that if it is over 50 cents by Christmas then I'll be the first to come on here and congratulate the new "team". It will be one hell of an effort. Now let me go find my disclaimer as I'd hate the truth to ruffle any feathers, and why should I be accountable for anything I say or do when clearly nobody else is as long as they add the following. In fact I may get it tattooed on my forehead......
This post contains forward looking statements (and my personal opinions only) that are subject to risk factors associated with resources businesses (and the world in general). It is believed that the expectations reflected in these statements are reasonable, but they may be affected by a variety of variables and changes in underlying assumptions (in other words not what some would like to hear) which could cause actual results or trends to differ materially (basically I could be 100% talking out my butt or had my 7 year old write it), including, but not limited to: price fluctuations, actual demand, currency fluctuations, drilling and production results, reserve estimates, loss of market, industry competition, environmental risks, physical risks, legislative, fiscal and regulatory developments, economic and financial market conditions in various countries and regions, political risks, project delays or advancements, approvals and cost estimates. In theory it's not worth the paper it's written on!! TAKEN FROM PRETTY MUCH EVERY CDU ANNOUNCEMENT. OF COURSE AMENDED FOR MY POST AS I WOULD HATE ANYONE TO BE SILLY ENOUGH TO THINK I HAVE A CLUE ABOUT WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT AND MAKE DECISIONS BASED ON IT'S CONTENT!
Think that covers it?
