ouch - I would be somewhat surprised to find there is no inflation allowance in your pension. Makes little sense and changes the attraction of it quite considerably. If it is large enough, and you don't use it all, maybe the unused portion could be considered as something which becomes a pseudo inflation penalty amount to be used for the future. Remember what you are losing is compounding over time.
