The mining industry is desperate to keep exporting coal and will do whatever it can to smear renewables.
That those subsidies have been tiny compared to the ones paid to them gets conveniently swept under the carpet.
At some stage they will start switching their money into the future, they must have started already and soon will be demanding more subsidies to compensate for the conversion. Blaming those nasty renewables for their predicament once again.
