If you want a system that supplies power to your home during a power failure then you have to pay extra for equipment that isolates your panels from the grid but still provides power for your home.
A standard system monitors the grid voltage and shuts down during a blackout.
One reason is for safety to prevent grid wires from being live when the expectation is that they would be dead.
