    The reason for the link was to explain Exponential growth regardless of the age of the article the laws still remain the same it is a the same as compound interest on your savings.

    As to energy increases the US Energy Information Administration say the following - in the IEO2013 Reference case, world energy consumption increases from 524 quadrillion Btu in 2010 to 630 quadrillion Btu in 2020 and 820 quadrillion Btu in 2040, a 30-year increase of 56 percent

    This is based on a linear growth not exponential

    If you look at the increase in your CPI for stuff that you buy you will find that it has risen on an Exponential growth rate and not a linear rate

    With increased population and increased commercial operations how can it not increase?
