WELLINGTON, Sept 27 (Reuters) - The Reserve Bank of New Zealand said on Tuesday that Neil Quigley had been elected as chair of the bank's board of directors.
Quigley, who is also the vice-chancellor of the University of Waikato and a former economics professor, had replaced Rod Carr as the bank's chair from 23 September.
The bank's directors are appointed by the Minister of Finance and they elect their chairperson once a year.
