'with the average around 8% for 2014' - a shocker really. With franked shares yielding about 7% at the start of 2014, and a market that has done rather well, I do wonder why funds are proud of 8% returns. Over 2014 I would have thought nearer 15/20% was the go.
I've been lucky (and that may not last) but I've averaged over 25% over the past 4 years, and I'm holding a reasonable cash element. Hell, we have been in a huge bull market for some years now. 8% is not something I'd want to be shouting about if I were a fund manager
