yeah coopec-i always thought that lng had a cleaner burn to coal or diesel,but it doesn"t stack up.in any combustion event,the major by product produced,namely CO2 is directly proportional to the amount of by product-namely energy.a better way to explain it is this-most taxis run on a similar product-LPG,but to achieve the same mileage as petrol they need twice the amount.
so basically they produce the same amount of CO2,but the lpg has less other nasty byproducts.that"s probably the major reason why lng is attractive to emerging nations-the power stations they build do not require the same amount of expensive filtration as coal fired.it has nothing to do with CO2 as this is a constant regardless of "fuel" used.
