    Sorry that you also seemed to have missed the point, that pertinent images existed before the written word and are as real and valid as any written word, including the noun "god", or combination thereof.

    Just where did you get the idea that god is unknowable, that god is too complex to be able to describe, that god does not have physical form to enable rendering an image.

    The Bible supplies numerous examples: man as opposed to woman, (phallic) circumcision, burning bush, blood from stone, pillar, tent, mandrakes...You think all of these things were included just to fill pages with content or convey wit or rhyme

    Ancient Greek myth has many more examples that predate the Bible, eg bow and arrow, shield and spear, wheeled contraptions, oared and sailing ships, articles of clothing (indeed one only has to look at the peculiar dress of the Pope)...

    Religions and their texts have cleverly turned what was once plainly visible for all to see and touch and eat into something hidden in plain view. Dont be fooled into thinking otherwise.
