How so? Quite the contrary.
Leaving Deans aside [who couldn't click with an Australian team] McKenzie is a superb coach, as is evident from his success with the Reds who he turned around in just a few seasons to win the title. The difference is that at the Reds he had unqualified support and respect from the players - no public mumblings or defiance over decisions he made.
It is untenable for a C and VC to whiteant a coach like that unless their express purpose was exactly that - they would have known the consequences.
I didn't advocate dropping either. I said both should have been sacked immediately as C and VC. Any leaser worth his salt would do that to put mutineers in their place; if they continued, then as Cooper found out, you get dropped from the squad altogether. Horwill showed support for McKenzie - Ewan should have replaced Hooper with Horwill.
I agree that the admin is a shambles; I don't understand what's going on though I do think things have gone pear shaped since Pulver took over.
I will repeat that if Beale is not harshly disciplined this week the ARU will be a bigger joke than it already is - the tail wagging the dog.
I wish Cheika well, but as I said, to get off on the right foot he'll be rooting for the 3 mutineers including Beale, if only because - surprise, surprise - they are all in his Waratahs team.
There but for the grace of God goes Cheika when his time comes.

frasier,
It really comes down to how much accuracy is attached to the accusations levelled at each and every player and in what context they have supposedly crossed some behavioural line in the sand.
There are plenty of people all too ready to malign if not slander players that have so far only had innuendo and (up to now) only vaguely substantiated claims made about their actions.
I'll be waiting a little bit longer for some black and white proof before I go on an old fashioned Witch Burning!
