    In regards your sale of your own property, you instructed the agent, as is required and they acted accordingly. If that was what you did then you have a moral compass more akin to the rest of us.

    In regards settlement processes for real estate there already has been some degree of automation in real estate in Victoria (cant remember the name of the platform but the banks have signed up to it as well for mortgage discharge and title release) but it has some way to go before it can cover the soft elements that an estate agency can offer. It has permeated many sectors and various services sectors have not been immune, certainly when it comes to various broker services.

    But that wasn't the point of the original post, it was about someone not party to an offer being upset about the conduct of an estate agent and claiming naivety on the part of the buyer was the agents responsibility. Imagine a naive person using self-help electronic buying and selling of property. Reminds me of CommSec and E-Trade et al.
