If you read past Drillsearch Presentations, in PEL106B the wet gas production wells are about 3.5 kms deep and Drillsearch/Beach has drilled deeper in some wells to determine the tight gas resource that are below these wet gas discoveries.
What Drillsearch is saying is that in future the tight gas resource in PEL106B can be put into production using the same production well platform that are already in place. The same well can be used to drill deeper. What I think will happen will happen is LOCATION will be crucial in determining which unconventional resource will be developed first. PEL106B (Beach 50%,DLS 50%), PEL106A and PEL513(STO 50%,DLS50%) are good candidates for unconventional gas being developed. Santos also would have numerous production wells that can be re-used to access tight gas at deeper areas. Whether it takes another 15 years or 25 years, who knows. But if you feel that those 3 LNG projects will at least add one additional LNG train each, then you can just calculate how much gas would be required 20 years from now.
By the way, Santos has demonstrated how quickly unconventional shale gas can be put into production.
