    If the libs did a late switch like labor, a change to Malcolm would have an immediate hit, but who knows if it would be as much as the luvvies say. Could easily not be so much because many may be put off by the "knifing" and he is not so popular with conservatives.

    Would it be a lay down misere if Abbott had never replaced Turnbull? Of course not. He would have been subjected to the same relentless character assassination as Abbott has been subjected to. The irony is, would the left be saying "If only you had a real liberal like Abbott."

    Labor's spin and dirt machine is brutally effective.
